Zigong Lantern Goes Interntional

Zigong Lantern Fair is a bright name card of Sichuan culture. In the past 30 years, Zigong Lantern Fair has been exhibited in more than 80 countries and regions, accounting for 92% of the international lantern fair market share, and the cumulative number of visitors has exceeded 500 million. Starting from Zigong, Sichuan Province, the charming Chinese lanterns have overcome the adverse factors of the epidemic, taken the initiative to expand the international market, and promoted Chinese culture to go global, illuminating the world.
Zigong Lanterns, which began in the Tang and Song Dynasties, have made great strides to the world since 1990 when "China Zigong Lantern Fair" was held in Singapore for the first time. The French city of Gueyac, which has a population of just 15,000, has hosted the Chinese Lantern Festival for three consecutive years since 2017. The number of tickets sold increased from 210,000 in 2017 to 480,000 in 2019, attracting more than one million visitors and winning the "Heritage Cooperation Development Award" from the local governments of the two countries. In 2019, the first Chinese Lantern Festival was held in Staten Island, New York, the United States, which has continuously generated "Chinese lantern fever" in the United States. Since 2019, Zigong has held more than 50 international lantern shows in 17 countries and regions along the Belt and Road, including Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Estonia and Romania, earning more than $20 million in foreign exchange and attracting more than 5 million visitors, continuously "lighting up" the Belt and Road.
Since the beginning of this year, Zigong Lanterns have continued to shine all over the world. In June, the "Tenerife Sea and Sky International Lantern Exhibition" sponsored by Zigong Sea and Sky Culture Co., Ltd. was held in Tenerife, the largest island of the Canary Islands, a well-known tourist destination in Spain, attracting an endless stream of visitors. In Canada, the Niagara Falls Sea Sky International Light Show opened on October 10, and the first phase is scheduled to run for five years... It is understood that Zigong City has organized more than 30 lantern fairs overseas from January to May, and it is expected that more than 60 lantern fairs will be held in France, the Netherlands, the United States, Japan and other countries throughout the year.
